About me
I was born in Cuckfield in Sussex, England but lived in Norwood in South London until my early 20s.
I studied Mathematics at Chelsea College, University of London and then the City University, London and this led to an early career as an academic. I moved into IT in my late 20s and most of my working life revolved around IT from then onwards.
However, since I took my first rather slow steps learning classical guitar when I was already 30, I have wanted to spend more time learning to play guitar and sharing my love of music with others.
And now - at last - I have some time to do this.
On this website - which is still in its very early stages of development - my aim is to share some of the music I love to play, and to tell you some of the things I have learned about playing that you may find interesting, and possibly even useful.
I will tell you something about my affection for the music, the instruments I play and some of the techniques I use.
I would love to hear from you if you have comments about the website, the pieces I play or how I play them.
Do you have pieces, recordings, videos, links. etc. that may be of interest to me? Please drop me a line.
I can take criticism, but civility would be appreciated. I have intentionally left myself much room for improvement.
And finally, I don't do social media. It's not for me. I believe in respectful agreement or disagreement, in honesty and sincerity.
